Before/After

Before
our shy mouths meet; wall
flowers being awkwardly
introduced by friends.

After
wrenching some covers
away to wrap over me;
geez, you’re a bed hog.

For Ray (Birds Of A Feather)

Ruined feathers catch more glitter-
Raining from the trees like chocolate-
Other birds on higher branches,
Birds that thrill the skies with color,
Shake the glory from their feathers,
Miraculous feathers that lift them high
Above sad birds on lower branches
Begging for a bit of reflected glamour
Birds that fill the nights with their cries
Waiting to move toward a pre-determined dawn.

(A birthday poem for my friend @RayOnativia. And no, it doesn’t have some deep meaning. I began with some phrases from http://www.writingfix.com and followed where they led.)

Boxers/Briefs

Boxers
to fall for a guy
who has cauliflower ears
is cheesy I know.

Briefs
you sit your mount well;
please, ease up on how freely
you’re using the crop.

Little Boys/Little Girls

Little Boys
they’re not supposed to
wear Mom’s make-up so how come
girls can shoot toy guns

Little Girls
go on. play doctor
but when you grow up people
will still yell “hey, nurse!”

Hello, My Dear

A year ago you came to Russia.
I remember you.
Do you remember
How we made love in your car?
I remember you like it was perfect-
The stars, moon, sky, and the lights of the city.
Here in Russia that does not happen again.
Come to me.
I wait here for my very sweet, my good man.
Come to me.
Drop me to the page.
You want what would be good?
Come to me.
If you don’t mind,
If you want to marry Russian beauty,
Write to me.
